Saturday during the regatta finale was a whirlwind of incredible experiences: the Crews Parade, the award presentation, vessel tours, cruises on the Oder, and a fantastic party with top-notch music.

From the morning, tourists and residents flocked to the vessels, enjoyed cruises on the Oder, and had a blast in the activity zones and amusement parks on both sides of the river.

A tradition at every tall ships festival is the climb of Szczecin President Piotr Krzystek up the mast of one of the vessels. This year, it was the sailing ship Guayas, and the president was accompanied by the captain of the Ecuadorian vessel, Bernardo Gordon.

The highlight of Saturday’s events was the Crews Parade, which wound through the city streets accompanied by brass bands. The colorful, international parade, featuring crews from various ships, left a lasting impression on both tourists and locals who lined the route to enjoy the regatta finale.

The parade concluded at the Summer Theater, where the official closing ceremony of The Tall Ships Races 2024 took place, along with the presentation of awards to the crews.

A total of 29 awards were presented, including the most prestigious ones for the winners. We have reason to be proud, as two of the four main awards stayed in Szczecin:

• A Class: Fryderyk Chopin, Poland
• B Class: Rupel, Belgium
• C Class: Helena, Finland
• D Class: Dar Szczecina, Poland

A special award for the most interesting performance during the parade was given to Dar Szczecina, while the sailors of Fryderyk Chopin were honored with the award for the friendliest crew.

We wrapped up the day with a fantastic party under the Main Stage. The festivities kicked off with dance rhythms from DJ Radio Eska, followed by impressive performances from Sylwia Grzeszczak, Lanberry, Daria Marx, and Tribbs.
