07.08.2023

Three evenings filled to the brim with lively sounds. Songs that make you dance by artists that can steal hearts. Meet the music stars of this year’s Żagle!

Next to sailing ships, Łasztownia’s music stage is one of the key highlights on the Żagle 2023 event map. During three August evenings, Szczecin will host concerts by some of Poland’s top-trending music artists.

On Friday, the music feast will start with acts by Szczecin’s artists. Opening for the evening will be Konrad Słoka & Chango – a four-piece band comprising musicians from Szczecin who have played on big stages in Poland and abroad, including at Montreux Jazz Festival, Memphis Blues Festival and Opener. Their music runs the gamut of genres and styles, from funk and jazz to rock and blues. The audience can expect some amazing improvisations. Up next will be the Szczecin-based Curcuma quintet.  The band has won one of Poland's leading music competitions – Antyfest, organised by the country's biggest rock radio station Antyradio. For several years now, they have been successfully performing both in clubs and at big events in Poland and abroad. Curcuma played twice on the Pol'and'Rock Festival, as well as at Antyradio's Awards Gala alongside Organek and Lion. Sara James will headline the Friday evening. She is considered one of the most talented and promising young vocalists on the Polish scene. Expressing genuine passion and love for music, Sara's début single “Somebody” became a huge success, and her later output is gaining growing recognition in Poland and internationally. Sara James made her presence known with notable performances in shows like The Voice Kids, Szansa na Sukces, Eurowizja Junior 2021 and America’s Got Talent.

On Saturday, we will keep the ball rolling, kicking the night off with a rock show. Formed out of love for rock music and live performance, Storo knows how to get their fans rocking. The band is driven by the powerful presence of its charismatic leader –  Paul Storo (French basketball player, vocalist, composer, “Must Be The Music” semi-finalist). Their great sound and style and positive energy captivate audiences, always packing a  powerful rock punch. Paul Storo will be backed by a team of professional studio musicians who are long-time collaborators of Poland's top music acts. Saturday's main concert will be a delicious music experience, featuring Bryska (Gabriela Nowak-Skyrpan), a new exciting electronic pop act and the latest revelation on the Polish scene. Her music spans indie pop, synth pop and electronic pop. Bryska’s début album “Moja ciemność” has been getting some very enthusiastic feedback. The artist has already proven she can rise to international popularity as her single “You were in love” has made it high on the charts of numerous countries. Prepare for a unique musical experience!

Sunday will have a very exciting line-up as well. This time, the music will be more low-key, with acoustic instruments and ballads. Opening up for the evening will be Kamil Hussein – a highly talented young musician and a true revelation in recent years. His utterly amazing music has been making him increasingly popular. Hussein is a singer, composer and songwriter. He rose to popularity in 2021 following the January release of his début single entitled “Muszę iść tam sam”. Julia Pietrucha will headline the Sunday night. A talented and versatile artist, she has been pursuing two careers as an actress and vocalist. Released in April 2016, Pietrucha’s début album “Parsley” contains 15 original songs – pop ballads with folk elements and soft ukulele sounds. The release has earned both critical and popular acclaim. Pietrucha’s second album “Postcards from the seaside” has been inspired by seaside travels. With songs that can touch people's hearts, Pietrucha's concert at Żagle 2023 will be an emotional and touching experience.
