03.08.2024

The crews that participated in this year’s The Tall Ships Races have been awarded! The winner of the entire race was Fryderyk Chopin!

They sailed over 1000 nautical miles, visited six ports, and overcame numerous challenges. After a colorful, energetic parade filled with sounds and dances, the Crews Parade marched through the streets of the city and arrived at the Summer Theater, where the official closing of the 66th regatta took place.

“This is a beautiful weekend in Szczecin. I’m glad that we are all here together and that you’ve competed bravely during your race. You looked and enjoyed yourselves incredibly when the colorful parade amazed the residents. Congratulations on finishing the regatta; the evening is yours—have fun,” said President Piotr Krzystek during the award presentation.

A total of 29 awards were presented, including the most important ones for the winners. We have reasons to be proud, as two out of the four main awards stayed in Szczecin:

  • A Class: Fryderyk Chopin, Poland
  • B Class: Rupel, Belgium
  • C Class: Helena, Finland
  • D Class: Dar Szczecina, Poland

A special award for the most interesting performance during the parade was presented to Dar Szczecina, while the sailors of Fryderyk Chopin won the award for the friendliest crew.
