News / We've Embarked on a Musical Cruise
Since Friday, at the Folk-Shanty Stage next to Bulwar Gdyński, we have been diving into the special sounds of maritime songs and romantic ballads.
Each day starts with a concert featuring Szczecin’s Talents as part of the “3x1” project created by Radio Szczecin. This series showcases local music bands on the air, and now we have the opportunity to hear them live on our stage. The first performance was by Ikrek, a trio of unique multi-instrumentalists known for their fairytale folk songs.
Following them, several other bands from Szczecin have appeared at the stage: I’GACKI Band, renowned for their original songs with a nautical theme, reflecting the maritime spirit of Szczecin; Dair, the most Celtic music group in Szczecin, performs Scottish, Irish, and Breton songs, drawing inspiration from various musical genres, from traditional to rock, punk folk, and sung poetry; and After Blues, a local band that plays both original compositions and classic blues hits. Later, the stage was taken over by some of the best folk-shanty groups, including Ryczące dwudziestki, Queen Anne's Revenge, and Wikingowie, who are dedicated to preserving the beautiful tradition of sailing songs. The first day concluded with a performance by the band Cheap Tobacco.
Saturday and Sunday promise more fantastic concerts, featuring acts such as The Nierobbers, North Cape, Atlantyda, Chango, and Kraków Street Band.
